looking for a pretty mid-level sound, (not too dark not too bright). I'm using a warwick corvette std. right now, and the strings I have on them now are Ken Smith Burners Ultra Low Gauge .30-.90. Mostly I'm thinking that I want a higher gauge...

I celebrate their entire catalog.

Try the Stainless Lo-Riders. Once they break in, you should be pretty happy.

I was actually thinking about that today. I haven't had my current bass very long and all I've had on it are the nickel DR's, so I was thinking of branching out a bit. Is it a very drastic difference?

Not really, at least so far. I just put Nickel Lo-Riders on one bass, so they're not completely broken in yet, but so far, the difference has not been drastic.
