Members texasbassplayer
You might need to play a bit slower and more carefully... Yes, I found that my years of only playing 12-string bass really focused my playing. Before that I was a bit busy and over the top, now, I'm still "adventurous" but I'm more focused on the song than being flashy.
Members #6
really wish there was ever an 8 hanging in a store..... i had to go to gc the other day for some xylophone mallets, and there were alot of basses there ( hadn't been in a gc for years)...when one of the salesdrones asked me if i needed help i asked why they didnt stock an 8, and he just rolled his eyes... i hate that place...if i hadnt already bought the mallets in the drum room, i wouldn't have given em that much business
Members Nayland
I bought this recently, and it's quite fun and definitely has a neat sound. I could see myself using it a lot for recording. The action seems kind of high, however, even when you factor in that it's an 8-string. I lowered the bridge, maybe I'll have to file down the nut or something. I play pretty much 98% fingerstyle though, and right-hand wise there've been no problems. For the left hand, it's kind of interesting how you have to curve your hand around the neck a bit to make sure you grab both strings.
Members Fishyfan
Its not that different. when i use an 8, i play however i feel at the time. i use my fingers mainly and i do alot where i attack the strings with all 4 fingers or i dont use just 1 finger to hit notes. The Left hand does not change much, you just need to play for about an hour and your used to it.
