Members countrybass
My band needs to buy all new mic's. A few gig's ago someone made off with all of our mic's. All of our singer's stuff was wireless. His vocal, mandolin, and his acoustic. The drummer, obviously, took a big hit too. Probably around 2 grand in total, Anyway's although I run direct, our sound guy likes to mic me as well. Any recomendations on bass mic's.
Members T. Alan Smith
I'd just grab a bunch of 57's and DI the bass.

Members RSBro
I'd just grab a bunch of 57's and DI the bass. I'd DI first, and then add a 57 for some bite if you've got the input channels.
Moderators ThudMaker Posted December 12, 2007 Moderators Share Posted December 12, 2007 Here are economical choices, not what I would necessarily rate as best. . . . . . Audix Fusion Drum Mic kit is relatively inexpensive and the kick is really decent for the coin. Sennheiser 815s mics for vocals. A couple of 57's for instrument amps, a couple of DI boxes for the mandolin and Acoustic Guitar. Go direct out of the DI of your bass cab. Otherwise, get a Countryman Type 85 or for less money an EWI active DI.
