Members Derek5272
During verbal conversations, I've had people think I'm saying "base" instead of "bass" and get really confused because they thought I was planning on buying a fortress or something. Members W33nie
I think it's more annoying when people know what a bass is but know nothing about it, and say it's just like a guitar or easy
Members DevilRaysFan
The worst one is, when you are walking offstage, somebody comes up to you and says "Wow, youre a good guitar player"

Members DevilRaysFan
Not having friends to mistake your instrument for a guitar? If they look at my keyboard rig and say " Hey, youre a great guitar player", I think it will be the optimal time to grab them by the scruff of the neck and belt loop, duffel bag-style them over to the nearest latrine, and officially face dunk them into the nearest toilet
Members Gruntollio Bass
Yeah I get that mostly from chicks who have little clue about most things and assume everyone weilding an axe is a guitard. They're usually the same people that you tell them you play in a band and they immediately assume you are a satan worshipping screaming death metaller??!! Don't get me wrong, I love my heavy stuff but people say this to me when I'm wearing a suit for {censored} sake!! God forbid what they'd say if I actually had some piercings and facial tattoos!!! Members REMUS
Mostly girls, I kinda have to say something like "It's what the guy with the red guitar in fall out boy uses". But I think most of the time it's just a pretext or context for flirting
Members bassman1956
Friends, no. Acquaintances, co-workers, well yes, sort of. You can tell from their reaction that what you said didn't make as much sense as if you had said piano, guitar, or even piccolo.
Members mike fitzwell
When I know I'm talking to someone who might get confused, I will use the term "bass guitar". Actually I really don't care. I'm the one up on stage playing, not them.
Members bleepo
yes yes yes I hate it when they say "well then, play me a song". I usually play them a song. Surely you know something with melody, or a recognizable tune. Another one bites the dust? Come Together? Donna Lee?

Members Thumper
yes yes yes I hate it when they say "well then, play me a song". I'll play a bass riff most folks would recognize, such as Money, Jeremy, One of These Nights, Black Dog, etc and they get it.
