His name is Lauri Porra from the band Stratovarius. They are one of those power metal bands from Sweden I think. I know some of thier material but Im not a huge fan. I was browsing around on the web and it seems he has a solo album due out soon. Seems to be a pretty big departure from his metal stuff with Stratovarius and actually seems really good.
