Members flemtone
I was turned on to Patrick O'Brian's 'Aubrey/Maturin' novels. Having read the first book (of 20, with the 21st not completed at the time of O'Brian's death) I bought the entire set in a 5-book hardcover edition from Amazon. I'm on book 17 now and they're terrific. I'm a history buff by nature, and the sea voyages of Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin are classic storytelling at its best. Other than that, I can recommend "Failure is Not an Option" by Gene Kranz. Lots of fiction, but more older rather than newer.

Members J.
World War Z was one of the best books I've ever read. It read just like a regular collection of personal accounts during war, and if a zombie epidemic ever swept the globe (ha ha ha), Brooks' imagining of it seems pretty accurate. I would love it if he wrote a few more. There isn't a lot of good zombie fiction. I thought Brian Keene's The Rising and City of the Dead were pretty good though. Anyone else know of good zombie and/or post apocalyptic fiction?
