Members Kelemvor
The beer threads here have got me thinking. I used to drink 1 or 2 a day. Now I probably average around 3 a day, sometimes 4. I've cut out cokes and other sugary drinks out of my diet. I'm pretty sure I don't consume over 2K calories a day. I drink a little more on the weekends but I don't like wine or spirits, so I almost never get close to being drunk. I'm just curious about the consensus here, and what other people's drinking habits are.
Members Strider
Drunkard! No, seriously though, I think you're fine. I would define it as too much if you're drinking, by yourself, to drunkeness pretty often. 3-4 is certainly not that much.
Members Thumper
Week days 2-3. Weekends, somewhat more.
Members Les_Izzmor
Only 3-4 a day??? Geez. Are you experiencing vaginal soreness?
Members Thunderbroom
Less than a 12 pack per week.

Members Svi
I usually have one or two after the baby is down. If I'm not having beer, I'm having a vodka tonic. I like to relax with a drink or two. Nothing wrong with that.
Members D Aussie
Beer is not bad for you, but chemicals put into major brewers beers are. If your beer of choice contains, sulphur, sugar (sucrose), ethanol, fish, egg, or lactose, then it is not good to drink ANY! These ingredients are thrown in during the ferementation and stabilisation processes to speed up, slow down or stall fermentation. Drink good beer.. the ones with only four ingredients, and unless you are constantly in a beer haze, then its better for you than coke. Viva la primo bier! Members FreestyleIntruder
Much more than about 12 pints per day, every day is probably pretty brutal
Members jasper383
Do you feel like you "need" to drink beer every day? That would be my criteria for finding out how much is too much. If you "need" it, it's too much, even if it's just one.
Members FGABassGuy
as many as you want...so long as the calories dont add up to more than you ran off at the gym a few hours prior than you all set
Members T. Alan Smith
I have one or two drinks during the work week. More over the weekend. Anymore, the wife and I buy two pints from different microbrews, a 6 pak from yet a different microbrew and a couple bottles of wine each week. Members jannda
I had 2 yesterday that was my first in 2 weeks on average probably 6-8 a month. It's not to much unless you fall on you ass and can't get up.
Members boogiebassbill
I go on benders. No beer at all for 6 or 8 months then a case a day for a week. I never drive after even one beer and 95% of my drinking is at home.
Members Super Bass
When you're not standing anymore,.....that's too much. I experienced this a few weeks back. Granted it wasn't because I was so drunk I fell down. I tripped and smacked my head off a wall. Generally I'm similar to BBB in terms of drinking. Although my benders are smaller and more frequent. I don't drink at home (anymore), only when I go out. But when I do I generally have a lot.
Members tinfish
"too much beer" is another of those concepts like "too many basses" I know that the words are english, I simply can't process them in that order. On the other hand, one doesn't vomit after too many basses, or at least I don't!

Members willsellout
I drink 3-4 a night. Throughout the night..I'm never drunk most of the time not even buzzed. I just like the taste. I don't care about "standards". I drink what I want. Dan

Members D Aussie
Guinness! Once you would have been right but now more. Guiness is "brewed under licence" in many countries now, Australia included. In Australia, that means making a batch of sugary Fosters VB base, stabalising it with fish oil, and adding the proprietary GBE (Guiness Brew Extract) to turn it dark. It has about as much resembalance to real Guiness as English texts of the Bible have to the Hebrew original text.

Members bikehorn
I say almost any regularly during the week is too much for me...I'd rather just make it a friday/saturday thing. I don't get drunk from a single beer, and I don't enjoy the taste of beer more than Jones Soda, so it seems a waste to me and an unnecessary tax on my liver. Then again, I smoke more pot than most people here would recommend, so what do I know? YMMV.
Members rikshaw
anything over 12 a day unless you are also drinking shots. then anything over 11.
Members Svi
I should probably edit my post as I just realized I haven't been drinking like I used to. I quit the good beer after I started working out heavily. I didn't even realize it until just now. I guess I don't like beer as much as I thought
