It's cheezy for sure, but with all that's out there, if my girls idolize the squeeky clean, need to sing and dance characters of High School Musical, I can live with that. I bet I've seen the first movie about 50 times with my daughters since this past summer. This year was the Christmas of High School Musical. Movies, games and the soundtrack for part 2. Ripping tunes for their new MP3 players, and found some songs I truely enjoy. Sure, pop smaltz to the nth degree, but some serious pop writers are behind the franchise. I noticed a lot of the same names coming up in credits as well... HSM, Carrie Underwood, Hilary Duff etc... Robbie Neville as well, singing lots of backups.
