Members Drevjn Krendall
I'm looking for a Bass overdrive pedal in a reasonable price age that sounds wicked. I play mostly Cliff Burton type music, so like the solo's ect. Any suggestions, and what's the USD retail price?
Members Poltergeist
i think that in a cheaper range, i'd go for the Phat Head Ibanez pedal... ... but if you want that CB sound, you'll definitly want a fuzz and a wah pedal... if you can save up some more money, though, i'd recommend a Fulltone Bassdrive... Members Optimus Prime
Fulltone Bass-Drive. Killer OD and a boost function. It's around $160-170.

Members Poltergeist
whatever you do, don't buy a Boss OBD-3... at least NOT AS AN OVERDRIVE...
Members Thumper
Ibanez PD7 works for me, for under $50.
Members SpaceGhost
I picked up a Boss SD-1 ($55 shipped) from Talkbass that was modded by Humphrey Audio. Take a look on ebay and see if you can message him and get a price for one new.
Members guitargod0dmw
whatever you do, don't buy a Boss OBD-3... at least NOT AS AN OVERDRIVE... Why is that? What don't you like about it?
Members Poltergeist
Why is that? What don't you like about it? i like it, and i want one actually... but its not, imo, an actual overdrive... its only good for really really overdriven tones, which made it sound more like.... 50% distortion 50% overdrive to me...... not good for subtle stuff at all... Members J.
In that price range, I heartily recommend the Digitech X-Series Bass Driver. It looks like it may have been discontinued just recently, but you can still find it new. Musician's Friend doesn't have it anymore, but a quick Google search found a few:http://www.amazon.com/DigiTech-XBD-Driver-Overdrive-Pedal/dp/B0002GYYEK It's not the best, but it emulates a couple different bass overdrive/distortion pedals fairly convincingly. It also has a wet/dry blend, which in my opinion is an essential feature on any bass distortion. I've found that even the pricier bass overdrive pedals still cut a little too much from the bottom when engaged.
