Members bassdudeguy
I have never been to one house where we never took shoes off, it just doesn't make sense not to, all I could see leaving them on doing is tracking dirt in the house
Members jackcheez
My GF is Japanese so I always take them off there.

Members Svi
If I go to someone's house and their floor is gross, I'll try to avoid taking off my shoes. I can't stand dirty socks or feet! If they ask that I remove my shoes, I will.
Members chunky-b
I wear them in if I am going back out soon, but once inside for the night, they come off...

Members catphish
yes. I have a pair of those fur lined crocs I wear as house shoes. Most comfortable things ever.
Moderators ThudMaker Posted January 8, 2008 Moderators Share Posted January 8, 2008 Unless it's muddy and kids are going to run in and out, I'm not sure what the point is. Keep your shoes on, please. I don't need to smell your stinky feet.
Members t3ch
If it's a strangers house then no, as that's kind of awkward... If it's my or a familiar's house, then hell yeah. They come off the second I'm in the door.
Members NeonVomit
Rarely. Of course, if that's the custom in someone's house, then certainly. I was surprised when I visited Finland, everyone would do it and I sort of just blundered into a couple of people's houses with my boots on... they cut me some slack because I was foreign (and most of the time, drunk)

Members T. Alan Smith
If I'm going to be around for awhile, then shoes off slippers on. Otherwise, I keep 'em on...and drive my wife nutz.
Members Zamfir
Always when at the wife's place, most of the time at mine. Don't need more dirt in either. Life is too good to waste it by pushing my spouse to homicide.

Members Emprov
I hate shoes. I'm usually either wearing Vans or sandals so they come off as soon as I'm through the door.

Members Don MC
I was surprised when I visited Finland, everyone would do it and I sort of just blundered into a couple of people's houses with my boots on... they cut me some slack because I was foreign (and most of the time, drunk) Yeah. We've got that japanese custom here too. But we don't eat sitting on the floor. Instead, we lie drunk on the floor. Better on a clean floor Only if the occasion is more formal (dresscode), do the shoes stay on (nice, clean and polished ones, of course). I don't like dragging dog poo, snow, mud and whatnot into my house under the soles of my shoes. Before entering, I wipe them off and then leave them in the hall. Even at the studio where I work, there's a no-shoes policy. It's reduced the need for vacuuming to a bare minimum. -DMC-
Members rummy
My own home, I take em off. Unlikes Tedddy, I am Asian. For others' homes, I just go with the flow. If the host takes his/her off, then I do, too.
Members Thumper
I live in a wooded area. I take my shoes off so I don't track pine needles etc in the house. The carpeting is still trashed, though.

Members RIC N BACKER
In my house it is not a rule unless the shoes are wet, muddy ,snow covered or any other condition that would obviously {censored} up the rug. otherwise I keep my shoes on till I take them off. I avoid peoples houses who have the strick rule about shoes......... my place is no {censored} hole but it is not a clean room either

Members SelenaBassGirl
I have to at my parent's because she is Japanese. I do at my home but not because of that, it is b/c as soon as I walk in my living room, the shoes are kicked off and feet are up and relaxed.
