Members Goofball Jones
Jeeez, people are such wussies about weight. A Gk 1001RBII weighs about 20lbs and has a handle. That's the weight of 2.5 gallons of water, or a 1 year old child. My wife weighs a buck twenty soaking wet and she could carry mine around in one hand. Hey, cut me a break. I'm an old man. I needs something I can carry while using my walker.

It's not even that- most of these new, small, light high powered amps can fit in your friggin' gigbag! It's all about convenience. If I didn't have to carry around the Mesa in a 4U Gator rack and could still get the tone and power of something like 1/10th the weight, why wouldn't I? Or anyone for that matter?? Members rpsands
I can see wanting to get away from the 100lb peavey classic 400 or the mesa 400+, but I don't get the unwillingness to get a much louder amp with more features at 20lbs vs. 10lbs. I don't think i would put any sensitive electronics in my gig bag, but the GK would easily fit in an over the shoulder bag like a 17" laptop bag or something.
