Members Thunderbroom
Just saw a news story on TV and found this clip on YT: The video is from Summer 2000. They had an patent attorney look at the guys claims. The attorney suggested that his ideas certainly are similar but that Nintendo improved upon his idea and some other stuff that I didn't quite catch. Members sunburstbasser
Thats still cool. Nintendo did do it better but that doesn't mean there isn't some lawsuit money available. Which is what I expect, seeing as how the unit has been out for over a year now and this is the first I've heard of any infringement.
Members Thunderbroom
The guy worked for Midway Games here in the Chicago area. He obtained two patents while working there. When this one came along he wanted compensation. He was laid off from Midway a few months later.

Members catphish
When this one came along he wanted compensation. He was laid off from Midway a few months later. That's not surprising. If he's from Midway, I'd be willing to bet the guys I work with now know this guy. Gaming's a pretty small, incestuous, industry.
Members sunburstbasser
that was my first thought second thought was why didnt this guy put on pants before shooting the video?? lol Cause hes that big a game nerd. Pants are rarely necessary compared to a mint copy of Ikaruga!
