Wonder if that would satisfy the bad gas I have for this:

**sigh** I doubt it. And then I'd just be $300 farther away from getting what I really want. ***sigh***again

Oh {censored} No! there is nothing to relieve Gretsch gas pains except to buy a Gretsch.

I hear you, I hear you. I'll hold out.

Unless the right one of these (my dirty little secret) were to come along:

Couldn't tell you why I want one so bad. But I guess there's no way to really rationalize gas. (I have had a Harmony H73, Roy Smeck Guitar for 40 yrs. that has stood me well, I guess it comes from there somewhere).

Maybe you guys need some real world pics, like mine. I bought it a few years ago on a gamble and won, great bass.

Big plus, due to the bodys depth and string through bridge it tales plain old easy to find long scale strings, Chromes in this case. The stock strings sucked, with nice strings it's the tit's.

would it even be possible to access the electronics on one of those?

Yeah, but it's a royal pain, as it is for most hollow body archtop guitars - you have to remove the knobs, undo the jack, pots, and switch from the body, remove the pickups, and finagle the whole mess out through one of the pickup holes. And pray there's no ground wire to the bridge posts, which there really ought to be.

It can be done, but it requires dexterity and either tons of patience, or the use of a very large number of curse words.
