Members poomwah
My quest for a tone has come to a successful ending :] And I even acheived it with a behringer, LOL. I got the tone I was looking for with an epi thunderbird, a hartke bass attack preamp/DI pedal, a behringer bx4500H and a carvin 410 and carvin 210 :] It's a lot like allen woody's growly tone, but a little bit brighter :]

Members mmb
Congrats And when the Behringer goes pear shaped, you can get a decent power amp to drive the cabs and use the Hartke DI/Pre. Might even sound better, who knows.

Moderators ThudMaker Posted February 5, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2008 I find tonal nirvana plugging straight in to a Mesa. No need for extra preamp pedals.
Members 82Daion
I hate to be a pedant but I think what you mean is that you have completed your tone quest +1 It took me a lot more (and more expensive) gear to figure out what I wanted to sound like. Congrats!
Members fastplant
Enjoy the feeling while it lasts.... Yup, just posted about this same thing a month or so ago. Already looking to upgrade. While I'm really happy with my tone, I think it could be better.
Members james on bass
I have heard good things about that Hartke pedal. I'd like to try one out some day, though I go for more of a clean sound now.

Members poomwah
I hate to be a pedant but I think what you mean is that you have completed your tone quest yeah, I noticed after I posted that the title wasnt what I had intended to type, LOL, got ahead of myself, planned on putting the title as Found My Tone, and while I was doing that I was thinking about the subject already about the quest for my tone, and , well, at least i play better than I type
Members poomwah
Nice one bro, I still havn't found the perfect amp so I envy ya thanks remus, but dont envy me, I've by NO means found the perfect amp. Just really close to the tone I want, a better amp would make it a LOT better. I'm just happy that I did what I'm confident is the absolute closest with what I have to work with :] and its "gigable" :] not that I have a band or any prospects, LOL
