Members karma279
I needed a bass for recording... I was gonna go with SX but they had a Squire P Bass at the pawn show I bought my gun at. Picked it up for $119. Looks brand new. I guess this should be decent for what I need eh? It sounds good... I think it'll make a great modding platform too. Any suggestions on first mods? The description of these are "solid hardwood" body. What are they? Basswood? These aren't plywood are they? Members justinbass
Replace the bridge with a Gotoh bridge. Better intonation and sustain for $30, and it is a screw in, direct replacement.

I just checked Guitar Center and it says it's Alder. So it should be a good platform for $119 bucks. Squire P Bass
Members GRANKOR
if it says solid hardwood I dont think it is ply, just whatever wood they got a discount on that week. Ply bodies are normally described just as 'solid'

Where's a good cheap place to get that stuff for this guitar online? I use guitarfetish; somewhere with prices like that? I can handle that much... I've done some guitar mods. Members justinbass
stewmac.com get a gotoh bridge, a switchcraft jack and two 250k pots. It'll sound noticeably better.
Moderators Kindness Posted February 8, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 8, 2008 One of my favorite basses is a modded Squier Affinity P bass. Of course, there is almost nothing left stock on it other than the body and neck, but that's the fun part, right?
Members hi.flyer
Nice! Slap a tort' pickguard on there if you're interested in a purely cosmetic mod.

Members pbass_groovin
I just got an Affinity P for $50 that I'm going to mod. The only original will be the body & neck.
