Members Fran da Man
Can some of you guys that have or play(ed) one enlighten me on the necks? Where does it fall close to as in playability? Like Lakland, Fender V's, Stingray 5, Mtd? Any info would be of help...got my eye on one, but i can't play it first. G&L site didn't give specifics: compound? maybe?
Members mike fitzwell
1.75" at the nut 12" radius IIRC. The G&L is close to a Stingray 5 IMO.
Members L. Ron Hoover
1.75" at the nut 12" radius IIRC. The G&L is close to a Stingray 5 IMO. The L-2500 neck has very similar, if not the same width and radius dimensions as the SR5, but it's considerably deeper front to back.
Members Fran da Man
Thanks guys. I don't too much care for Stingrays (for some reason) i think it may have been disappointment in what i expected (hype). The neck from what i remember was alright; the overall Ray was a let down (to me).
Members someotherguy
What's the string spacing like at the bridge on the 5er? Narrow or more like a 4 string?
Members jackcheez
About G&L necks. They vary. A lot.
Moderators Kindness Posted February 11, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 11, 2008 I have a Tribute L-2500 on my bench for the next day or two. It is an amazing neck. I'll post info later tonight. Honestly one of my favorite five string necks ever.

Moderators Kindness Posted February 11, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 11, 2008 That good, eh? Yes. Every time I pick it up I have the same thought. We'll see what I think once it is strung up. That always changes the feel. Keep in mind also, I like necks on the large side.
