Members Avalanchemaster
so I have an old 800RB bi-amp head that I want to pair up with a GK cab (unless something else is recommended), but I am unsure what to go with. I am unsure what size it would power or what size would best utilize its power..... suggestions?
Members t3ch
Do you want the 800RB's matching cabinet, or do you want a GK cabinet that best fits your sonic needs?
Members RIC N BACKER
I was in GC today and played a 700RBI head through a GK 8 X 10. Normally I would say nothing but 15 inch speakers but this setup was a monster. If I was playing out I would buy this setup without hesitation
Members t3ch
I didn't think a 700RB could even fully power an 8x10

I think I'm getting my models confused. I was picturing it being the 800RB's little brother.

Members Nevandal
The Neo cabinets are awesome. I have the 412. It's awesome times 4 to the 12th power.

Members flatcat
I used an Eden 2x10 with a horn (bought new in 1992) with my GK800RB (bought new in 1986, only one owner) for...well, I still use that setup. That was my main/only bass rig on hundreds and hundreds of gigs all over New England and New York, and never once, ever, has it failed me.
Members JeffBass
That great bassplayer from No Doubt powered his two Ampeg SVT 8x10's with a pair of GK 800rb heads, live. I've seen other pro's with exactly the same setup. The GK 800rb's low-end amp puts out 300w into 4 ohms, many people don't even use the high-end amp because it's only going to flavor the tone at 100w @ 8ohms. A great portable stack for the 800rb would be a 4 ohm 2x12 on the bottom amp and a single 1x12 (8 ohm) on the top amp. You would then be using the amps full 400w potential. Members Poltergeist
an 800RB will, without a doubt, power an 8x10.... i played an old one through a 70's Ampeg 8x10, and it was, without a doubt, one of the best sounds i heard in my life.... sooooo freakin' MEAN! Members jackcheez
With an 800RB I used a 4 ohm 2 X 15 and an 8 ohm 2 X 10. It qualified for rig of doom. The Neo cabinets are awesome. I have the 412. It's awesome times 4 to the 12th power.I've been thinking about one of those. There's an old peavy 4 X 12 at a club I play every month and I like using it. 4 X 12s is pretty kick ass. Members Poltergeist
yup, both the RBH and the Neo cabs rock the planet!
Members Yarbicus
Just stay away from the Goldlines. When I was looking for a cab, I A-B them with standard Backline cabs. The Golds were so sterile I could hardly believe my ears. But the Neos pretty well rule.
