Members L-1329
So this should be real fun. Instead of having probably our last band get together, as the drummer couldn't make it, me and the little lady are taking the 'vette out to a local corvette cruise night. I've got it all shined up and ready to go. There should be a couple hundred cars there, and the town also has food, beer, and a band playing, it should be a lot of fun! I'm finding out that the 'vette community is really tight knit, so it's kind of fun starting to get involved and hopefully meeting some cool new people. Summer rules. Moderators ThudMaker Posted August 15, 2008 Moderators Share Posted August 15, 2008 Maybe some of those people want to play in a band, too. And yes. Car club folks can be very nice and tight knit.

Same colour and everything and every time I see it, I must admit, I think of you. BTW, I'm selling my 51 Plymouth. Screw that car, I want a Chevy. Members L-1329
Hey Bassius, I just talked to the guys at a vette shop about some upgrades. They do a heads, cams, springs, and supercharger install for C5's that would get me about 570 hp to the rear wheel on the dyno. Might just have to see about stepping the 'ol C5 up a notch. Members L-1329
that would be awesome.....and, what--about $15,000?? DO IT!!! Not 15K, but not cheap! I'm thinking I could do it in steps, with the heads/cams/springs and intake first. They say that would open it up by about 50-70 hp, putting it right in line with the C6. Then when I have some more spending cash I could do the blower mod. It's already got a great exhaust on it, and should still have some clutch life left... So tempting! Members Bassius
if i were you i'd start with the intake and exhaust first...cheaper and you'll see some gains...plus it'll sound better, then springs then the headers and cams

Members bassgirl9
bah get a magnum and black it out like a hearse! I have certainly thought about that. As far as new Cars go, the Magnum is right up there for sure. However, I live 20 minutes away from Delmo's speed shop.

Nice, I actually almost bought a silver '69 vette years ago, I figured since we were the same age it would make a nice pairing. Didn't do it though, since I sure couldn't afford two cars and that ain't exactly a year 'round daily driver. We went to the 'cruise night' up in Richmond. It was fun, but wasn't exactly a cruise. They had a couple roads blocked off for the show cars and we had to park a few blocks away. Saw a few real sweet rides though, but it was kind of a small event. Libertyvill is having a car show Wednesday from 6-9 this week though, that should be a LOT bigger and more fun. We went to one in Mundelein last month that had a TON of cars, and was a real treat. The Libertyville show should be similar. Gotta love summer and cool cars!

Have you been to Volo yet? They have that crazy auto museum and I believe they host cruise nights once in a while.

I'll have to check into any car nights there, that would be a fun little cruise from here.
