Members Thrashterpiece
Hey all, I just picked up a nice new BBQ grill today. I know alot of you guys here are big into grilling. I was wondering if you could or want to share some recipes. Preferably for burgers, steaks, and chicken. Or if you have links to any good BBQ websites. Thanks in advance. Members bnyswonger
Easy chicken marinade - 1/2 cup soy sauce1/4 cup cider vinegar1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil1 tblsp oregano1 tsp garlic powder or 2 cloves fresh pressed garlicI tsp red pepper flakes Mix up ingrediants and pour over chicken the night before you want to cook it - in the morning turn the chicken over so the part that wasn't in the marinade is for the remainder of the day. That mairinade is right out of the Weber cookbook and a real nice change from standard grilled chicken w/ barbecue sauce. I have a large charcoal grill and have done turkeys and standing rib roasts on it. I loves the grilled foods.
Members One Bad Monkey
The only thing I ever do for burgers is use some Tony Chackorie's (sp?) cajun salt and brush on some Kraft Honey Mustard BBQ sauce. Nothing really fancy, but it works. Lately I've been doing more with fish. We cooked up some talapia fillets the other night with just a simple off-the-shelf rub. The fish was hearty enough that you could put it straight on the grill.
Members bnyswonger
As mentioned above, Tony C's is your friend. I don't grill burgers or steaks without a good sprinkle.
Members solderjunkie
Adobo seasoning on beef and pork is good, too. Tony C's is better on chicken, though.

Members poomwah
this thread should be linked to the PETA thread but seriously, no pics equals no grille
Members SA Rios
If it's not one of these, you're not grilling, just cooking outside.
Members catphish
Well, I have nothing to offer besides the fact that I'll be cooking outside with you. I've about to throw a brisket on to my smoker. And I have no idea how I waited so long to get a smoker!

I've got a weber - they're great, but I wanted more grill area. I've got a big old discontiued sierra grill from willams sonoma - it a coal hog, but has some neat features. Members y-o-y
I don't mean to derail, but I just returned to charcoal from propane and am tiring of the classic Kingsford briquettes. What are recommended alternatives?
Members bnyswonger
I usually get whatever's cheap. Kingsford aint. Cheap charcoal works fine - it does tend to burn a little quicker and hotter.
