Members Thrashterpiece
My youngest son who just turned 4 finally decided to start using the bathroom on his own. Whichever of you guys are parents, you know how big a deal this is. Its actually already saved us money on diapers just these last couple weeks. Now if I could just get my youngest daughter to start going then we will be completely diaper free.
Members Funkee1
Congrats!!! Of course, this signals the start of a very long, downhill slide that ends with paying for several years of College, and a wedding........but you still have time! Members Hearafter
My 3 year old is trying to get it. My first son learned really quickly, and never looked back, but this one is taking longer. Enjoy it.

Members Thrashterpiece
my toddler is finally tall enough to stand up to peeYAY! Thats the only problem Im having now with my boys. They are both potty trained but since they started learning when they were too short to stand up they both sit down to pee. Its gotten to the point where its habbit for them and they cant seem to make the changeover very easily. I really want them to be standing up by the time school starts. My oldest starts in Sept. and I dont want him being made fun of if he gets caught sitting on the toilet. Any advice or tips on getting them to stand up and pee? Thanks in advance. Members Hearafter
It's been my experience, that being around other kids (and teachers) that the old saying "monkey-see, monkey-do" rings true. As soon as they see everyone else standing up to pee, they'll follow suit.I wouldn't worry about it.
Members Thrashterpiece
show him how dad does it??? Ive been trying that. I know they get it, but they just havent taken to it. Im hoping that what the poster above me says about monkey see monkey do. But thanks both of you for the tips. If anyone else has anything to share, please do. Members puckdude66
congrats!! I envy you. I figured we be out of diapers a few years ago. My youngest son is now 6 (almost 7) and is still using diapers. He has autism and has decided it's much more convenient to just go in his pants than take the time to go potty. We've been trying for a few years, but no such luck. If any of you have ever been around a child with autism, you understand. It's all about the routine. At least now, he'll change himself if it's just pee. We're able to get him to use the potty for peeing about once a day, but after that, it's a giant fit and he is a very stubborn one. Thank God for the large size pull-ups. Oh well, maybe by the time he's out of first grade, we'll finally be able to get rid of those things.
