Members Boosterbleep
Bought and fitted a Badass II Bridge to my Fender MIM P Bass today. Sustain is fantastic, not so sure about the tone though, if I turn up the tone control on the bass it sounds kinda metallic and clanky. Is this how it should be or have I got it setup wrong ? Sounds about right actually. Especially if you use fairly bright strings.

I put a new set of Black Beauties on while changeing the bridge. Does the clang die with the strings ?
Members Optimus Prime
Did you lose any string tension after you installed it?

No, I probably gained some tension, which is good because I play with a low as possible action.

Yeah, black beauties are actually the most mild strings I've ever found (other than a non-roundwound string...like flats or groundwounds) so if that's too bright, I'd sell the Badass and buy a Gotoh 201. A bit less bright, and half the cost. haha.

The Badass is a great bridge. Sounds as though it is set up fine. I am not sure what clanky means and I don't think the BA would change the sound like that. Is the pup ground wire clean, bare and properly placed under the bridge?
