Members hammer744
Nice! I tried one a couple of weeks ago in a shop - I really liked it as well.
Members King Kashue
Wow, are Geddys really going for that much? It's still worth it, as they're really nice instruments, but I got mine like 3 years ago for $490 shipped. The neck really is skinny! Heh, that's the primary difference. That's what makes the Geddy bass, the Geddy Bass... MIJs are known for their necks, and the Geddy is like their magnum opus, in my opinion... Weak dollar, higher prices on materials, etc... It was seeming like the longer I waited the higher prices got.

Same bass hanging on the wall, hadn't yet sold, and the price was raised $150 in that time.

Members RIC N BACKER
Happy NBD! I had one of those last summer. Great bass with killer tone. That neck is awesome. Too bad you are playing it through a Hartke..... It sounds much better through, well anything else.

I'm sure there are better DI's, but it was reasonably inexpensive ($70), and it has enough knobs to tailor the sound a bit before it is sent to the board. It's a big improvement over the $20 DI I was going into.

It was 10X's better through a GK700RB and a 8X10 cab:thu:

So, no amp, no mics. I hear my bass through the stage monitor. A plain ol' DI doesn't allow for any EQ (bass, treble, whatnot), but this one does. I do like my BA-115 and it has suited my needs so far, but I rarely use it. I did play through a GK rig recently, and I liked it a lot.
Members Renfield
DI stand for a Direct Interface. Actually, to be technically correct, it stands for Direct Injection, going back to the earliest use of the term at least. But the rest is bang on. I meant my humor attempt, not yours. I must communicate better. Even my mea culpas are ambiguous and ineffective. Anyway...

Starting to wish mine didn't have a few dings, but thank god I got it back in the days of USD 630, new. (Yes, I still seethe with envy at KK's price...) I's gonna give the bass some nice lovin' this weekend just for finding this out.
