Members fran99
Long time reader, first time poster anyways, FINALLY I'm getting a bass amp as I have been playing unplugged for the last few months or so. In particular I have been looking at an Ashdown MAG 300 with a 2x10 cab which in particular sounds good to me since I have been playing without any amplication. Now the thing is that I can easily double my budget for an amp. As I mainly just play at home, would it be better for me to get something better or should I just stay with something cheap? thanks for the help! Members ezstep
Ashdown MAG 300 and a 2x10 cab should be fine, plus it gives you some flexibility. Should you find yourself playing with some other guys and find you need more volume, you can add a 1x15 or another 2x10 for a little more money down the road. Save the rest of your money for loose women and beer.
Members bassman1956
Agreed. Save the rest of your money for loose women and beer. When you word it like that, it's really hard not to +1 it! Really, that's a great rig for a start! You can add pedals, or cabs, or another bass... See where I'm going here? I think many would agree, we wish we could talk some of the starters into something similar. Leaves you room to play. I'd say good choice. Enjoy! Members fran99
Thanks guys! I just wanted to make sure I was going to put my money into something that would last for a while. I didn't want to buy some cheap crappy low wattage practice amp or those disgusting Behringer things. As for loose women and beer, I have to agree on the beer but the loose women....eh...I prefer mine to be tight! Oh and I'm female btw
