Members Super_Donut_Man
Well I've been eyeing a couple http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Boss-OC3-SUPER-Octave-Pedal?sku=151431 and http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Electro-Harmonix-Micro-Octave-Multiplexer-Pedal?sku=150435 Can these go an octave octave up rather than down? I really like the EHX one, but I don't really want octave down. I really like the idea of running the higher octave to a guitar amp, and the lower (dry signal) to my bass amp. I would assume that there would be no problems with that, right? Don't know if these could pull it off, as I have read in other threads, some pedals have a hard time with things below an A? Members Optimus Prime
The OC-3 is pretty bad. Find a used OC-2 if that's the route you want to go. I had the Octave Multiplexer. It sounded amazing tone wise but was WAY to glitchy for me. Some people like that. You need a MicroPOG. Mine gets here tomorrow.

Members Optimus Prime
Gotcha. If you can handle that, it's the baddest octave pedal tone-wise that I've ever heard.
Members Renfield
Warning: The Micro POG will not make your bass sound like a bass though, it synth's it up a bit. I liked it, I want one, but as a tone altering effect, I still need an octaver after that to do down octaves like I want. The OC-2 is good, but only on single notes, the OC-3 sucks period. I'm still looking for a decent natural sounding octaver that goes down an octave.

I don't like the fact that it affects the bass tone, but I don't know if that will really matter if I dirty up the tone with some fuzz, hell it might gibe it that much more of an edge I guess its probably going to cost an arm and a leg more than it already is going to, to get a clean one, or am I mistaken. I am hoping that guitar center would carry the multiplexer, so I could give it a whirl.
Members BeefJerky
Yeah i don't like the OC-3 at all. And i really wanna try the micro pog and that other EHX pedal. And renfield; i saw a demo for a Foxtron Octron once and it sounded pretty natural.but it was on guitar if that matters.

It was hella fun, I won't lie. It's NOT an octaver though, it's as the name implies... a Polyphonic (synth) octave generator. I can't stress enough... do not expect an OC-2 on steroids, it's not. I tried it and ruled it out as an octaver instantly, seriously, one note and it was gone in my head for that purpose. But then I ruled it right back in as a tone altering effect unto itself. Pricey though, have to love buying direct. Membership has it's privileges.

I'm already getting gnarly tones without sweet, sweet octave up/down goodness. When I get a Supercollider and Micro Pulsar the tones will get even badasser.
