Members Ender_rpm
My Mesa Subway (20w, Class A, guitard)is a great amp, but I need more bottom out of it. It has the Mesa Black Shadow 10", 50w in it right now, any one have any suggestions for a replacement that'll push more lows? And won't break the bank, if possible
Members mrcrow
get the specs on the existing speaker and good eminence for comparable and lower data remember you may need to alter the enclosure to develop all the low frequencies i did this with a 100 combo and added a 'lower' speaker dynamic rangeit just got muddy
Members gspointer
is that an open backed cab? Are you using it for bass or guitar?
Members Ender_rpm
Open backed, guitar and (very rarely) bi-amping my bass. I dump the bass control then anyway, to keep from blowing the poor little thing up
Members jannda
my vote would go for an Eminance with a lower feq. rateing but first just try sealing the back up and see if that helps any and or lineing the cab with some insulation. Members Ender_rpm
"Seal the back up"? Just stick a plug of ply wood in the back of the amp? Won't that mess with heat dispersion, etc?
