Members Krazybob
Been thinking about adding another bass to use just to jam around with that doesn't cost a bunch of $$. Anyone care to comment on the Epiphone EB-O and EB-3 imports ? I know that the EB-O is short scale, which doesn't bother me, since I have short fingers anyway. I used to play lots of jazz years ago, and had a Gibson EB-2 semi hollow body, that had a great sound.Krazy~
Members no-logic
Neck heavy....that is all I can tell you. I'd have a EB-3 already if they weren't.
Members Thumper
If you like the tone of an EB 2, you'll be right at home. They're a bit neck heavy as mentioned, but a neoprene strap will help. If you want one, go for it.
Members GotRock?
The EB0 has a short scale neck, narrow neck, thin neck. Love it. Beleive it or not these features make me like it more than my Ric 4001 or a Hofner Beatle bass. The tone does leave something to be desired. I think it's because it doesn't have a bridge pickup. I've equpped it with RotoSound lights, and it's similar to the electric piano tone of a Ric. People ask why I prefer that piece of sh*t, but those features speak for it. Until Ric shortens their neck, Hofner beefs up their body tone or Gison lowers their price, I'm good with it.
Members BigPigPeaches
I've tried them on several occasions, and I like them. They're tons better than the old Gibson EB-O's, and yes, they neck-dive, but they're so frickin light I don't care. Neck is fast, fun to play, decent range of tones, cheap, and sharp looks. Members NeonVomit
Can the neck dive be fixed in any way other than a grippy strap?
Members no-logic
I'd like to know this also. I've heard of some moving the strap buttons. Does it help?
Members Perfessor
I think an acoustic guitar style strap that attaches to the headstock might help.
Members texasbassplayer
I sold my Epi EB-3 because of the serious neck-dive(long scale neck on guitar-sized body), but I still have an Epi EB-O and its fine, but it is a one-trick pony when it comes to tone. But, I like that tone.
