Members Annoying Twit
This is just a "general information" curiosity question at the moment, but how good are the EMG Select split P and J pickups? They are a lot cheaper than other aftermarket pickups. I'm sure you get what you pay for, but are they are useful step up compared to the stock pickups on low end instruments? Members Guttermouth
i put a set of the p's in a bass a while back and all but hated them. they were dull and muddy- i'd take a set of fender mexican p's any day of the week. no experience with the j's
Members Mac_C
I installed a set in a MIM P-Bass and thought that they were great. I got nice, punchy tones and would never describe them as dull and muddy.
Members JeffBass
The EMG select humbuckers work well on Spectors and Schecters. Not quite as deep or as bright as the more expensive EMG's (like on my Spector Euro) but I really liked the sound of my old Korean made NS 4 string thru my GK stack.
