Members Renfield
I think I want to d/l a new mp3 player for my computer. WMP is annoying me somewhat, though I am used to it and don't deal well with change, so if someone knows how to solve my one main issue right now, I'd appreciate that advice too. So... either what's a good free mp3 player for the desktop that can minimize to the taskbar and still allow me to see song info. Or... how can I get that back in WMP? My work computer does it, but clearly I misclicked something on this tower and can't for the life of me figure out how to undo it.
Members t3ch
Winamp is the main mp3 player, and I swore by it for years... I switched to Fubar about a year ago though and haven't looked back. One of those two will work for you. As far as fixing your problem, I am of no help as I don't use WMP. But yeah, those other two have plugins that would be able to work that out for you (While being better players anyway). I don't know if this is helpful or not, lol. Members lokidecat
Best player evar. All-in-One. plays everything. runs on any OS. DVD even (so you don't need to use any other dvd software). And it's freeeeeeeeee It even has a free server, so you can broadcast with it if you so desire. Members Renfield
My other issue... when running msn it's supposed to display song info in it from WMP. I have the box checked off, it just ignores it. Maybe I should remove it and reinstall?

But I'm unsure if you can actually fully remove it from windows once it's installed. I'm also not sure where the settings get saved... There should be a "restore to defaults" option though, I would think... WMP is a {censored}ing pain in the ass, I wish I could be more help, I avoid it like the plague though. Foobar - http://www.foobar2000.org/ I like Foobar though because it's really slim and low on resources. If you need something packed to the brim with features, you may want to look at winamp. I tried one file with Quicktime, WMP, DivX, and another that I can't remember, before a friend clued me in to VLC. It pwns all. BTW, I work at the Apple Store at Pentagon City Mall now. You need to come visit.

Quicktime is worse than WMP and is the biggest piece of {censored} ever, the Divx player is half assed, and WMP is meh. I personally use/love Zoomplayer. And I've never been to the pentagon mall, I've always wanted to go though

I can even resize and reformat videos, add or remove audio and even cut the audio tracks out then edit them in Garageband.

The regular QT player on windows is quite a bit different from the full featured one built into yours.
Members HackedByChinese!
I only played with this for a little bit, but it's a Mozilla-associated audio player project and seems to work okay for DRM-free stuff. Songbird

Also, to fix the WMP controls not showing up on the taskbar, right-click it, select "Toolbars" from the menu, and make sure that "Windows Media Player" is checked.
