Members Thunderbroom
How are you holding up? I've been watching the new and parts of the area are under water. My wife was in Wheaton last night and the main street through town was under water. Des Plaines was also hit pretty hard. My sump pump is running almost continually. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. Members bassman1956
Haven't had "official" numbers for this area, but we're in the beltway of the heaviest rain. Somewheres around 9" for the last 36 hours. So far okay, but, some seepage in the basement. One window well is prone to filling in, then leaking through the sash weather seal. Found this out in spring when a rain + an ice dam showed it up. So, I went out with a scoop, and emptied the water. Leak stopped. The lake in the yard is very impressive though! Members Svi
These are the times I'm grateful we will live in a condo. My parent's basement flooded. My friend lives in a condo in Des Plaines and the river overflowed into her parking lot.
Members catphish
So far so good here. This is the worst rain we've seen in a longtime.

My friend lives in a condo in Des Plaines and the river overflowed into her parking lot. Before they did all that work on it, the Des Plaines river used to flood almost every year. This is the worst rain we've seen in years.
Members citizenralph
And the rain just wont stop! So far we're holding up ok but we're only 1/2 mile from the mighty Des Plaines river. I'm checking the basement every hour. Too much gear down there (band rehearsal space). Members JeffBass
It's creeping up to my front door and the golf course I live on is a lake now. Just running errands yesterday I drove through 5 flooded streets. Lucky my SUV didn't stall. Schaumburg is all messed up!!
Members L-1329
Looks like the back side of the system is now moving past Moline and Peoria, it should be through here by this afternoon. The end is in sight...

Members Thunderbroom
Is this the remains of Gustav, or something else? We already saw the remnants of Gustav. I'm not sure where this is coming from. We've yet to see Ike. It's still pouring down.

Members catphish
I haven't gone over to the Des Plaines river, but I haven't seen anything like those photos around my parts. That's crazy. Glad my car has a 24" wade depth depth for my commute tomorrow.

Moderators ThudMaker Posted September 14, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 14, 2008 I thought this was the remains of Ike that went through? We have been getting it really good here. Sump pump is non-stop for me. There were flash flood warnings throughout the night.
