Over Drive Clips

I made these clips with my Peavey Fury which has a SD QP P pickup and a SD Hot Jazz Stack J pickup at the bridge. I played through my Mesa Big Block and recorded my SWR 4x12 and SWR 18 in the left and right channels respectively. So if you want to hear how speakers have an effect on the tone, play with your balance.

Big Block Overdrive Channel: Clean-Mid-Med-Max

I'm pretty impressed with the overdrive section of my amp. I wish it had an independent Eq, but it can get pretty nasty. I usually use it on a pretty mild setting.

GutterMouth Destruction Device: Clean-Mid-Max

This thing is great. It can go from a medium kick in the gut to a extreme punch to the throat. It seems like this bad boy adds lows when the gain is cranked. I use it on it's lowest setting most of the time. I'm really happy with it but if I could change one thing, I'd allow it to be more subtle (lower gain) and have the tones Q point more centered. It seems like the tone can get really nasty and "high". I set mine around 8 o'clock.

DOD Death Metal: Clean-On (flat Eq)

Crappy tone sucker, but I had it floating around so I recorded it. Lots of Eq options, but I'll probably never use them (or this pedal).

GutterMouth Doom Fuzz: Clean-On-Volume Roll Off

Wow. On or off. My little three way switch doesn't seem to do much. Extreme fuzz to the max. Your volume knob can make some really bizarre effects but my clip doesn't really serve that feature justice. I wish mine had a gain knob, but for what I use it for, it's not needed. Plus the D-Device is a lot more useful.

Rat: Clean-Min-Max

Great box but it does suck some tone out. I usually don't use it with bass but it does have an insane amount of gain.

I'm really diggin' the tone of that Mesa, thanks for putting those up!:thu: I might just have to go try to find one of those to try out. Also you just confirmed that I really don't want anything like a doom fuzz, or probably any pedal. Amp crunch seems to be where it's at for my ears. Nice work.

I'm curious to see how it stands up to something like your all tube head.
