Members Joe_low
Hi everyone! New to the forum. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the Lakland Skyline 44-01 model. I'm looking to get something active, and I've heard mixed reviews on the Skyline models. They're right in my price range, though. I primarily play contemporary worship music. I've been using a Japanese Fender '51 Reissue P-bass. If someone could speak of the reliability, tone, construction quality of the 44-01, (or a bass of similar value), it'd be much appreciated! thanks, Joe
Members no-logic
I had one for about a year. It was my main player. Nice construction, well balanced and sounded great. The only problem I had with it is that the E string was so overwhelming that I had to go easy on it to lower the volume of that string. Got to be a PIA so I sold it. And yes, I tried adjusting the pickups. Very nice bass otherwise. I loved the neck.

Members SB900LE
here's a nice active bass at half the cost: CV-4 maybe not nice enough for you, but I'd like one
Members xOriginalNinjax
here's a nice active bass at half the cost: CV-4 maybe not nice enough for you, but I'd like one Definitely what I would go for. I would say they're really close to being on par (though not anywhere near the level with customer service) as Lakland's Skyline stuff build wise. The CV-4's are seriously my FAVORITE basses ever made by Schecter (and most manufacturer's period).
Members Joe_low
I've never played a Schecter instrument before. I can't even really think of anyone around here that is a dealer.most everyone around here deals Fender, Musicman, Rickenbacker, etc. any other reviews of the 44-01 or other recommendations?
