Members Emprov
Last year one of my daughters missed 4 out of her first 5 days of class because of strep throat. Last year was also the year of the great lice infestation in our area. A word to the wise: make sure your kids don't hang their coats up with all of the others, have them put it on the back of their chair and it'll save you much frustration. Thats a pretty good idea. I never thought about that. And to everyone else....thank you for the kind words.
Members Emprov
Hmm. Thats a pretty good idea. I never thought about that. We kind of figured it out as a class last year, all the parents were emailing out of frustration and there wasn't a single outbreak in the room after we separated the coats. Before that, we dealt with 3 of them. It's not fun having to rip the house apart, staying up until 2am washing clothes, sheets and couch cushions, bagging up stuffed animals, etc... That, plus having to spend an hour per kid washing and combing out the hair on a daily basis -- back of the chair, no exceptions. Do that and your life will probably be much easier if those irritating little bugs ever find their way into your area. Glad to hear your daughter's feeling better, here's hoping for a healthy year! Members Thrashterpiece
Shes in 4th grade and my son started kindergarten this year. I still have 2 more at home that are too young to be in school. And so far (knock on wood) we only had one lice outbreak. Im hoping for a good year this year without one but who knows.
