Members cfnbt
Hi, I'm looking for a new 4 string bass for around $1900. Anyone got any suggestions? I play ALOT of the who and mod music. I have been looking at the Fender american deluxe jazz bass. I have a Gallien Krueger Backline 810BLX cabinet with a Gallien Krueger Backline 600 head. Members bassgirl9
I have been looking at the Fender american deluxe jazz bass. yup, right there would be a good start. Are there any other styles that catch your eye? There is a heck of a lot that one can do with that amount of cash.

Members bassgirl9
Where are you from by the way? 1900 doesn't go anywhere near as far in some countries as it does in others. Location will also go a long way to pin pointing what might be good to suggest in regards to upkeep and warranty work of said instrument.
Members cfnbt
I like the look of jazz basses, musicman stingrays and sterlings, precision basses, gibson sg and thunderbird and many more different styles. Thanks for the comments
Members cfnbt
I live in Los Angeles and have been going to the perfect bass shop, trying out all kinds of basses.
Members In Absentia
I'd say snag a new American Standard Jazz Bass. They are absolutely incredible. Other than that, grab the Stingray (HH model, in my opinion).
Members bassgirl9
If you want to be totally unique, Try and see if you can get someone talked down on this model. It's a Billybo Gretch. Chambered body, mahogany wood, kind of a unique Tbird shape to it. I think they're going for closer to 2500, but who knows, maybe you can land a deal. I like everything about this bass.
Members sub5ound
buy a whole bunch of crappy sx's and give them all cute names like Crappy, Ugly, and P.O.S.!
Members cliffsdad1234
I'd buy an Ernie Ball Sterling and take the difference and get a better amp.
Members cfnbt
What do you think about the Warwick Jazzman FNA bass? I played one today and loved it but I was wondering is it worth the money? Thanks
Members lokidecat
I'd get a EBMM stingray5 and use the rest for hookers and blow
Members no-logic
Absolutely check out the Laklands as suggested. Better bass than the Fenders IMO.
Members Ender_rpm
Get an Am Standard Jazz, and upgrade your amp. IMO, the amp is more important than the bass when it comes to sound. The bass is more about how it feels to you (I'll prolly get jumped for this one ).

Members bassgirl9
What do you think about the Warwick Jazzman FNA bass? I played one today and loved it but I was wondering is it worth the money? Thanks It's a bit out of your price range. Beyond that, if you love it, it's worth it to you. It doesn't matter what the rest of us think.

Members Emprov
Thinking about getting a Donald Duck Dunn Lakland bass! Good idea? Thanks What are you playing now and what don't you like about it? Do you like thicker or thinner necks? Wider or more narrow string spacing/fretboards? Are you looking for something on the heavy or light side? Do you prefer active or passive electronics?

Members bigmac9137
not to be mean, but I would suggest that you sell your GK equipment, since it is the backline stuff and isnt very good. Either get upgraded GK equip, or ampeg, or something on the same price level. No matter what bass you get, a crappy amp/cab combo and take away some of the greatness. So then with the remaining money, after you sell the equip, get an american standard jazz/P, or maybe a Musicman stingray or a warwick corvette (dont really like but its ok).Just some food for thought.Good Luck Kyle
