I wonder how badly those two were burned. Are we talking 2nd and 3rd degree on 15% of the body, or like 80% of the body? I guess the info will come out eventually.

Looking at the pictures, I don't know how anyone could've survived that.

crazy!

i am no fan of blink 182 but he is a kickass drummer....

I love playing Blink 182 songs because of Travis, his drum lines have so much energy it is just infectious, the crowd loves it and I actually enjoy hammering roots to their songs. My favorite drummer will probably always be Steve Gadd, but Travis is way up there, and I hope he makes a full recovery as I see him as a great asset to newer music. Mojo to you Travis.

Props, and good vibes to the mangs. Its sad really, all that body art on Travis is gonna be so {censored}ed up. Here's to a speedy recovery for both really. What a horrible situation. Just ask the Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, not to mention Randy Rhoads, and Skynard. There are so many other significant artists who have been injured or killed in plane crashes too. I hope they come out okay.

no matter whether I like a band or not, I always hate it when this {censored} happens

this is terrible
:(

I agree with that comment. Regardless of the person, it's a sad event

It must be the first aircraft crash where the musician wasn't killed, but was one of only 2 survivors

Anyone know what the hell happened? I mean a learjet catching fire on takeoff, that is absolutely unheard of.

From what I read, the jet caught fire after the crash. The crash was due to a botched take-off, although it's unknown whether it was pilot error or equipment failure.

There are a lot of unknowns there, but I also suspect this was the result of a high speed abort attempt for some reason. I have a year flying a Lear 60, and I have some strong suspicions of this accident. We'll know once the investigators figure it out. A high speed takeoff abort in a LJ60 is one of the most critical and hazardous things I've ever had to contemplate, and is one reason I thank God I don't have to fly that piece of utter crap any more. In my eyes that design is an abomination that should never have been certified, or at least they should have been forced to publish the takeoff performance data in a way that reflects reality, and not in a way meant to help the salesmen sell the damn things. A pilot has to hunt for and recalculate the data presented in order to find out the accurate takeoff (and landing)distances, and they are almost always waaaaaaaaaay longer than most realize. I very much want to know what happened here, and I'm going to keep tabs on it.

RIP
