I loved my Samick. Best darn 5 string I ever... owned. I was going to say Played, but that would be a lie. I played a Tobias once that absolutely killed it and I also played a Dingwall that was amazing, but those were different times and I was a different player then.

I've told you about my coloured abomination, the older version of yours (I got it when I was 15). Still can't find those old pics of it though, one more box to look through. It's a must see. I will get it up here eventually.

It was a solid bass though, it was my main bass for 11 years. I had an early 90's Warwick, a mid 80's Ric 4003, hell, you name it I owned it at one point, but I never parted with it through it all. It was the staple in my stable.

If I was still in contact with the girl I sold it too, I'd buy it back purely for nostaligic purposes. It's earned it's place on my wall next to the Strat, got it a few months after. I learned how to repair and mod on it. It's rather altered shall we say. haha

Odds are it got tossed in the trash at some point since then. It was quite the eyesore to begin with, but after my mods, it had a look and sound only it's father could love.

I am STILL hunting for a Samick guitar that I owned for a day once. I bought it to flip, BIG mistake... it RULED!!

No idea the model, can't find info to save me. It came out circa 1998-99, trans blue finish, cream PG with 3 black P90's on an angle, maple FB. I called it a surf guitar for lack of a better description, but man I loved that thing. Sounded like nothing else I had ever heard. It's one of the only instruments left on my bucket list that I'll own again somehow one day. The RB950 was one of those basses.

The Samick 5ver I played had too tight of a string spacing for me to enjoy. Other people might like the narrow spacing.

I think my love affair with chords was largely fostered by it's tight spacing and 24 frets, (frets are closer together on a 24)

I own a Samick 'Greg Bennet' Torino (SG-style guitar). Sounds and plays pretty sweet. I also owned an acoust-electric, and am picking up another acoustic tomorrow.

I almost bought a bass at one point, but then I found a Westone Spectrum at the pawn shop for $62.

I don't know about the basses, but the guitars are very underrated.
