Anyone have experience with the SWR Goliath SR 6x10? Thoughts? I play with a rock band, check my sig for current gear.....I fight a mesa dual rec and a marshall 100 watt both half stacks at gigs. I like my current rig.......but..............

Any thoughts?

I am also interested in the berg 322 BUT, have been told it would not be right for my current line up.

Thanks in advance:thu:

well i dont know about the SWR, but 6x10's are awesome

i played an ampeg 610 for a while in a hard rock band

and it pretty much kicked everyones ass all over the place.

huge sound, good punch, big 'ol wheels on the back + sturdy grab bar on top made it easy to manuever. just small enough to fit in the back seat of an average car. i miss that thing.

Well, I have the SWR 4x10 and I often throw a Goliath Jr. on top to make 6 10s. I compete against a Fender head into a Marshall 4x12, and another guitar player with a Fender 2x12 combo. Really a single 4x10 is all that I need.

I use a passive Warwick corvette into a preamp, then into a SWR head and it gets Very loud and agressive. I think the SWR cabs are known for being very clear, efficient, and articulate. I loved my 4x10 enough that I went out and bought the Goliath Jr. when I saw a good deal. I mostly use it with my GK 400RB for a 'mini rig'.

Man, I really need to get a 6x10 to go with my Mesa 2x15 and Big Block 750...

From the sounds of it, I might be better off with an Ampeg or Mesa 6x10 though vs. the SWR

Yeah, I'm thinking I might eventually pick up a Mesa 215 to go with my Powerhouse 610, hahaha...

After a recent A/B, the Mesa smoked the SWR 610 - it was louder, lower, and had a 3 dimensional sound to it that the SWR didn't have... Don't get me wrong - the SWR sounded really good - if the Mesa hadn't been there, I probably would've gotten the SWR...

^ NICE!

Thanks - those Mesa 215s are pretty sweet, too - and I'm totally jealous of the BB 750 you're pushing it with... I'm currently pushing mine with a Peavey T-Max, which is definitely getting the job done - but am planning an upgrade this year some time... The short list is:

GBE 750 or 600

M6 Carbine, or M-Pulse 600

Or, I might get crazy and go all tube:

SVT(older)

Mesa 400/400+

Peavey Classic 300

Only time will tell on that... I've got a Tour 450 coming in this week, and *if* it sounds better than my T-Max's(I've got 2), I'll trade one for it and keep the other as a backup - we'll see...
