Members UK_Lefty
Hi guys. Firstly, as a disclaimer, I'm 24 yrs old. Yesterday was the first time I ever knowingly heard Average White Band - Put it Where You Want It, specifically. I absolutely loved it. I love the whole feel of the song, and the few others I've heard like Schoolboy Crush, Pick Up the Pieces... the basslines are cool too. Can anybody recommend me some more tracks or certain albums? Or even similar bands? Thanks guys!
Members ZedsDead
Cut the Cake was another big hit from them... as well as probably 6 more songs that made Top 40 back in the day. Can't remember the names. You may also like Tower of Power, the JBs, The Buckinghams, early Earth Wind and Fire, etc.... More modern bands would be Greyboy Allstars, Brand New Heavies, Liquid Soul, Papa Grows Funk, etc.
Members flemtone
I'd heartily recommend "Person to Person", AWB's live double-album from the late 70s. It's chock-full of funkiness. The studio albums "Cut the Cake" and "AWB" are stellar.
Members Funkee1
Just get the Best of! It'll have all the killer cuts. If you like them, I second Zed'sDead's suggestions, and will add Heatwave (yes! the Always and forever guys...), ConFunkshun and the Bar- Kays.
