Members DARKMETL/
I have been digging the way a buddys EMG Select equipped bass is sounding through my rig. I know these arent exactly very well sought after. Does anyone here have a set of PJ EMG Selects sitting in their tool box or anything?PM me if you have a set you would like to unload. Would also like some feedback on whether you still use yours and your opinion. Thanks!

Members Renfield
i saw them in the stew mac catalog - i was wondering why they were so cheap, i might pick up a set and if i dont like um ill toss um ur way I've only ever heard one set. It was in my old Ric, I bought it second hand and the dip{censored} who owned it before me raped it. He seemingly didn't like the tone (so don't buy a Ric) so swapped out the pickups for "whatever fit in the holes that big." Which was an EMG Select Jazz bass pup in the bridge and an EMG Select Stratocaster pickup in the neck. Needless to say it's not a fair assessment. But I can say the only thing worse than a Ric run solely by a jazz pup, is a Ric run through a Strat pup. I'd kill to get that bass back now, and I'd swap the pups in a heartbeat. The internet, nor aftermarket pups, didn't exist back then.

Members Renfield
poor ric are the pickups passive or active? Passive. They are the everyman's EMG, swappable with anything.
Members SelenaBassGirl
I don't know much about the technical things on a bass (yet, I am still learning) or even if this is what you are talking about but the bass I bought from my friend has EMG pickups on it.. Members Billystrat
i recorded with my friend's SX 5 string Jazz with EMG Selects in 'em. Nice definition. I went direct so I really can comment how they sound through my rig compared to other stuff, but they record great, no weird spikes or noise. For the price I don't think you can beat 'em.
