Members J-chot
Has anyone tried this?I was wondering, because you can find spools of that stuff just laying around.I wouldn't really think shielding would be an issue....but the solder connection might break since the cable is kinda rigid...but I'm sure I could find a way around it... Members MrJoshua
Transmits the sound just fine, but it's very stiff. I'd worry about people tripping over it a lot, as it would be hard to get it to stay flat on the stage. Also, it's generally produced with the idea that you'll install it and then leave it alone. Repeated coiling/uncoiling/moving about will possibly cause cable failure as the center conductor may break.
Members MrJoshua
Coax is a single conductor and basic instrument cable has two conductors, IIRC. Assuming that, then no, it won't work incredibly well. Coax has two conductors.

I have seen some coax that was more flexible than others though...but it might do fine in my practice room.

And it would soften up over time, but when it does, it's sure to break being a solid copper core, not a braided one.

Members groutt
It has Radio Frequency picofarads. You need Audio Frequency picofarads for audio. Sorry, cheap humor. It should work fine for casual use, except for the kinking and breaking.
Members Guttermouth
http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1746426 it will work fine (some people say it sounds great) but it will break eventually.

Members chunky-b
it's ok. we all make mistakes. If it doesn't work, you can always try a couple of wire coat hangers wrapped in duct tape for insulation as your two conductors... I hear they sound as good as some high-end cables.... That is why I use cheap cables from a local music store with a lifetime warranty. That reminds me, I have two with L connectors that went out I need to return tonight.
