Members dr. hitler
Is $300 a reasonable asking price for this rig? I'm mainly a guitar player so i'm clueless about this stuff. I read a couple of the threads on the peavey mark series but I just need some reassurance.
Members BigPigPeaches
That's actually a pretty damn good price, even just for the head itself. I'd jump on it if I needed a good solid gigging rig. It won't be the most distinctive-sounding rig...Peaveys are pretty bland by themselves, but they put out loads of power and they're reliable as hell. Members georgestrings
In my area, it's an "OK" deal - it'll cover alot of gigging territory, but I'd try to get it down to $250 - $125 each for those is not out of line... - georgestrings
Members fingeringam
lol why the hell is there 4 gas cans on the sofa in the background?!?!?
Members 82Daion
lol why the hell is there 4 gas cans on the sofa in the background?!?!? Looks like the folded back seat out of a van. That's a pretty good deal for that rig, OP.
Members Billystrat
That's a solid, loud and HEAVY rig. I've played through many similar setups. You can't get louder or more reliable for even double that price. You can dial in some very use able tone, nothing insane, but I'd take that rig over 80% of what Guitar Center has out on the floor these days. Members J-chot
I have the mark VI (supposedly used but it looks new...) and I paid 236 for it tax and all (at a store even!) I love it! it's so {censored}ing loud, and it has alot of really useful features....not so much on the mark IV I believe.... my point is try and talk him down to 250. Members bluedogaudio
I personally think you could find a better amp for $300. Forget Peavey.
Members georgestrings
I personally think you could find a better amp for $300. Forget Peavey. By all means, point one out, please... I would try to get it down to $250, but to find a giggable amp/cab setup for $300 or less - and STILL say "Forget Peavy" sounds pretty unrealistic of you... - georgestrings
Members Jugghaid
That was my first big amp. along with the 215 Black Widow cab. Earthshaking it was.
