Members Korsyn
I'm a huge fan of all tube amps that when you roll all the dials to "10" you get the natural breaking up of the tubes. I'm currently in the market for another amp and was wondering what people's experience was with the Fender Bassman 300. I got to play one for the first time this afternoon and was truly impressed. I wasn't however able to play at length with the amp really cranked being that the store is rather small. I'm aware of the overdrive channel, and that's great, but I would like to know if anyone has experience with the clean channel breaking up at high volumes. I love that. Thanks. Members fealach
I've never had one up to max volume; they're awfully loud, I don't think there are many places you'd be able to crank it. That said, distortion channel aside, it's remarkably distortion free up to "very very loud" volumes. I never cared much for the distortion features of the amp, but I did like the amp overall. I prefer a ~200 Watt or less amp, cranked, for distortion.
