On the "why all the hate for Warwick" thread, someone mentioned the neck on a Rockbass being super-heavy. The neck on mine most certainly feels like a very solid piece of wood. But the bass feels comfortable standing up. If I don't hold the bass and shake my body a bit the neck will eventually go down. Is this "neck dive", because it doesn't seem very serious if that's all it is. I don't notice any downwards motion, or a feeling of holding the neck up while playing upright. On a bass that "neck dives", will I feel what I feel, or something much worse?

I'm having difficulty using the Myxolydian mode for riffs. Many riffs seem to use only notes from the Myxolydian mode, but not the third. So it could equally be another mode. When I try to include the third and the flatted seventh, it sounds a bit "exotic". Any sample riffs or licks?

I do get a bit of trouble when lifting my fretting hand fingers, where the string rings slightly after I remove the finger. If I lift the finger slowly, it prevents the ringing. Would it be best to practice playing much slower and then speed up only as/when I can lift my finger without the string ringing, or should I continue playing faster and try to learn to prevent ringing over time.

1 - yes thats neck dive

2 - :idk:

3 - sounds like you're getting harmonic ringing, move your fingers slightly back from the fret
