I bought a 6'er of this yesterday and I have to say, it's absolutely delicious. It's a wonderfully drinkable amber ale with a nice malty character and smooth toasty finish. This isn't surprising to me though as Bud has geniuses working for them.

Try it if you can and tell me what you think.

I've seen it in the stores and have passed by every time, thinking if it's Bud it has to be piss. After reading this, I'll pick some up for the weekend. I'm very surprised by the review.

Same here. I assumed it was a repackaging of the same old stuff. Maybe I'll give it a try (if it goes on sale).

Stopped by the store on the way home from work tonight. Saw it in the cooler. Picked up a six of 1554. Maybe next time.

I've heard really good things about 1554 but haven't tried it, yet. I had their Mothership Wit last week and I really dug it, though.

I wasn't surprised at all. Budweiser has some of the best minds in beer working for them. I didn't think it would be as good as it is, but I figured they would put out a decent product. IMO it is as good as many micro brew amber ales I've had.

My liquor store guy sampled some a few weeks ago. It's alright, but it's the same price for a 6 pack as many of my favorite micros. If I'm going to give my munny to a brewer, price being equal, I'm going to give it to Red Hook or Widmer. I've already made August Busch IV's boat payment a couple of times over.:D

Oh the micro's I normally frequent are at least 3 bucks more normally, so it's a good priced beer for me:D

My LQ has Red Hook, Widmer, and Kona brands for $5.99 a six pack.

He also has $20 bombers of Triple IPA's and other ultra boutique beer. I don't buy any of those, but he's been gracious enough to split one with me a few times. :thu: Dude knows how to make his customers happy, he's the king of liquor in Lakewood, CO.

Denver is the Forgotten City when it comes to microbrews. We have more breweries than Portland, but nobody knows it.:D

Funny, I tried it this weekend too. I agree, good stuff, very reminiscent of a Sam Adams with slightly less sharp hops bite. I also really like the Shock Top Belgian style wheat beer from them. I prefer Widemer Hefeweizen, but it was a late night 7-11 beer run :)

Great. More for us.
:thu:

I've always enjoyed plain old Bud, and ignored beer snobs, who are really just like wine snobs....{censored} off, I'll drink what I like.

If it's good enough for Joe Six-pack, it's good enough for me.
