Members Detox
I just got a new MP3 player that came with a 30-day free trial to Rhapsody. I've been thinking of switching from Napster to another source of music downloads, so I'm wondering if anyone recommends Rhapsody. The most important thing to me is whether you can use Rhapsody on a pay-per-song basis, or if there's a monthly fee. Does anyone know? I tried to look it up on their website, but there didn't seem to be any straightforward answer. TIA
Members i_wanna_les_paul
I use Rhapsody with the pay-per-month plan. I use the $15/month plan where I can download whatever I want to my computer, and can transfer it to an mp3 player. Can't burn CD's, though. And you can use Rhapsody on a pay-per-song basis, too, IIRC. Just download the software (you'll probably have to set up an account), and get charged for what you download. Members flatcat
I pay a monthly fee for Rhapsody. But the computer I use it on is rigged up to my studio, so rather than pay for CD-burnable tracks, I just record them onto CDs. I don't have an mp3 player though. Rhapsody is a GODSEND if you play in a function band, or a band where you do a lot of requests. You need to hear "Quisas" by Nat King Cole? No problem! How about "Hallelujah" as performed by Jeff Buckley? Rockin'! And for me it has things like the Pet Sounds box set so I can hear the vocal-only tracks for "Wouldn't It Be Nice", which are just amazing...or the latest from Fountains of Wayne ("ooooh we belong together/like Traffic and Weather...."). All the Howlin' Wolf records. The Byrds. And I can sample new bands I hear about. I fricking *love* Rhapsody. But I'm an old fart and I don't get out much. So caveat emptor. Members Perfessor
I use it for a pay per song basis. Just decline joining and you'll get in.
