Members EZ3X3
Do you use strap locks, and if so , what ones do you use, and why that brand? I'm looking into putting some on my bass.

Members Super Bass
+1 Have been using them for years and they come in black! Yep. I have 'em in Chrome, black and gold. Actually, that's three basses I have them on... the third isn't completed yet though. What sparked off my use of them was finding a really old set of Gold ones in the case when I bought my older Aria.
Members solderjunkie
I dislike the angle of the dangle that Dunlops have... they protrude too far for me
Members fretless
Schaller , but I slip the lock over the strap when it's on the button as a normal strap button would be .
Members Cliff Fiscal
I'm a schaller man myself.......never has failed me. The only issue I've ever had, was that I wore a hole in one of the strap buttons from excessive rocking out.

Members mlwarriner
i bought some from guitar fetish, and they don't work. well, one of them works, but the other one doesn't. it won't latch on to the button.
Members Cliff Fiscal
I have another question are the basses you have these locks on are what you would call heavy? Nope. I install them on my guitars and basses for that "just in case" situation. As I a n00b I learned very quickly, that checking the status of my strap isn't my first priority........I dropped a few guitars, or had the strap come loose randomly......no thanks. Members Poltergeist
would never pick up one of my basses without straplocks. Dunlop straplocks all the way.
Members prosigna
I used to lose straps all of the time. I just could not keep up with them. When I installed Dunlops the value of the strap went up high enough that I do not let them out of my sight. I have not lost a strap in years. Members bnyswonger
Dunlops for me. I have one that's starting to go bad after about 20 years of use.
Members Thunderbroom
Dunlops are on 9/11 of my basses I think. The other two, the PVC EUB and the URB, don't need 'em.
Members heatheroo
I've been using the same leather strap since 1976. I dunno how funky my bass playing is.........but the strap definitely qualifies: 32 years of sweat, stale beer and smoke of "various origins". That thing is gross. When I open my case, the strap has been known to hiss at me and slither to the far corner of the case.
Members RSBro
Dunlop Straplocks. Not one single issue in 8+ years. Hell, my '88 Charvel still has the original set that were put on 20 years ago! Have had issues (big time) with the Schallers, and I very much dislike the Zeppelin ones. Members Hearafter
poorman's strap locks I just traded guitars with a guy, with these on the strap. The guy looked at it and said "What the hell is that... a... a bread clip?"
Members Zon5string
I use Dunlops on my Les Paul (yes, it's heavy....15 pounds heavy). On all the others I just use the little reddish rubber grommet that comes on a resealable Grolsch beer bottle. I look at it this way: every time I buy a pair of straplocks I get two free beers! FWIW...except for the Les Paul, the straps "live" on "their" basses.
