So...they don't even know how many people will swarm down to the City to either take part in the historic event of Obama being elected as our first black president or......?

Daley said he want's a million people. The park holds 70,000. It's going to be a zoo to begin with.

Now, in a city that riots when a basketball team WINS a championship, how will that play out if Obama losses?

If Obama clinches will they cut off liquor sales after a certain percentage of votes are in?

Man, I hope it isn't even close. If it's close, well.......you know.

I bet the city (Chi-town) will be packed and it will be so close and so many controversies that it may be a week before we find a true winner... So all of these Obama supporters will be packed in the park and won't know for sure if they won or not...

Well, then they'll have no choice but to have the biggest orgy on record.

I hope it's not close either. I thought about going down there (here) but I don't think it may be a good idea, heck people here riot when sports team wins, I hate to think about what could potentially happen if Obama loses the election. Not that he will. Or could.

too cocky?

I'm scared to death about what will happen if Obama loses. Riots? Fires? I worry about the "celebration" too because people seem to get shot just attending the Taste of Chicago. Honestly I can't understand how anybody from Chicago could want a machine politician to be president. It O'Boggles the mind.

As far as McCain "stealing" the election, I just tried to vote early but had to leave because the line was too long for my lunch hour. All the early voting locations close at 5:00pm each day making it difficult for working people to vote early. I'm sure Mickey Mouse, Jimmy Johns and all the other ACORN registerees won't have the same problem.

You really live in the wrong area. If you were my neighbor and a registered voter, we could carpool. Actually we could walk to the polling place in the basement of a church about 5 minutes from my house. You might have to wait 1 or 2 minutes, then you'd be greeted warmly. You'd be given a pink slip with all of your favorite Republican candidates on it so that you'd know exactly who to vote for and you wouldn't accidently vote for the "wrong" candidate. The nice lady would take your driver's license, check it, then double check it to confirm that you are you. Then, off to the computerized voting booths where you'd fill in your choices. You won't get a receipt for your ballot though. Trust us, your vote counted!

There was a good commentary on Fox News . com on the idea of riots if Obama wins or loses. Here's the link.

So last night, we talked about how police in urban centers of the country are bracing for violent unrest, just in case a) Obama loses and riots break out in cities like Detroit and Oakland, or b) Obama wins and riots break out in cities like Detroit and Oakland.

So let me get this straight: No matter what happens, we should expect blacks to riot. If this isn't racist, then call me David Duke in a sundress.

Think about it: We freely assume that no matter what happens with the election, whites, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans and our outspoken friends from Trinidad and Tobago will go about their business.

But African-Americans? Expectations are so low that we're placing rush orders on riot helmets.

Saturday is also available for early voting - btw.

C.

At very few locations and I'm sure those will be PACKED on Saturday. It's Cook County man and Democrats run the show, meaning working taxpayers should bend over and take it as usual. After all Cook County has the highest taxes in the nation and the reason for that is the DEMOCRATIC PARTY, thank you. :poke:

Who do you mean, "they"?

A lot of the black community in my town. They rioted and burned down the publicly-funded apartment and housing communities they were living in. Free, of course. :)

Then they had no place to go. It was funny, in a sad way.

Then go on Saturday, when the polls are open from 9 AM to 5 PM.

ETA-I just read your other reply. There are 10 polling places open on Saturday, that's hardly few.

The Messiah gave away everything and lived on very little.

Pharaoh took away everything and lived on a lot.

I think we'll stick with the latter on this one.
;)

No evidence the Messiah ever existed:poke:

Also, different pharaohs did different things, some good some bad, as is the way of people.:D

I'm certain that hijinks are taking place on both sides.

I'm sure there are enough desperate people around to make sure that nothing is wholly above board. It's a sad point of view, but realistic I am afraid.

---------

Early voting has been open for a month prior to the polls - there has been plenty of time to get it done, if it needed doing in advance.

I'll probably be voting on election day, early in the morning, if for no other reason than to say thanks to my neighbors are working the polls.
