Yep. Bye Bye, maverick. A lesson should be learned by the Republicans that they did better when they were perceived as being for smaller government, low taxes and pro-military. This all-inclusive stuff and the neo-con garbage has to get out of the party.

We can now officially kick McCain to the (political) curb...good riddance...

Hopefully there were some lessons learned here...

Yes, he is such a vile man and did much damage to our country. Perhaps we can charge him with treason and execute him.

good riddance to bush too. Don't let the door hit your brain on the way out there, buddy.

A radio station here brought up a very interesting point.

Carter to this day does all kinds of humanitarian work, continuing on from his days in office.

Clinton? Same deal.

Virtually all Presidents in modern times have used their increased wordly presence to further the world for the better in their own ways.

What and where will GWB in a years time? What positive contributions do you really see him having from here on in?

Do you see him giving great speeches on various socio or economic policies after he is out of office?

He's going to retire to the ranch, to live out his days as the laughing stock that he was. Probably will become reclusive, depressed and ultimately his health will suffer from the emotional toll that will no doubt sink in as he is stops being shielded by his handlers, gets out and sees the world for what it really is, and for what he's done to it.

It's almost enough to make you feel sorry for the guy. Almost.

I just heard that for all his efforts (ie bend-over compormise with the most liberal of Democrats), McCain only managed to get 36% of the Hispanic vote.

Hello....

Jeebus but we just don't think the same way. McCain is one of the good ones and I hope he is one of the last Republicans standing. Ron Paul and John McCain are excellent people. You would do well just to polish their shoes.

Or at least extend McCain a 'thank you' for trying to protect your ignorant ass.

I'm not talking about McCain personally - I'm talking about his miserable political career.

I have a lot of respect for Ron Paul, politically...there is a lot of potential there for something very constructive for the country. McCain...no not really. He's an ego maniac and attention whore and a miserable political failure. The farther he gets away from the Republican party, the better off the party will be.

Can we talk about the clouds? How about all those Congresspeople that are going back to work when they should have been fired on their asses for the bailout {censored}ery? I'm looking at you, Jean "We need to help out Main Street......in downtown Cincinnati..." Schmidt.

Exactly.

I need to see how many of my Congress-people were ousted, if any. I voted as hard as I could against those bastages.

I voted against her (Schmidt) in Ohio District 2, to no avail. The Independent candidate took home a big chunk of the vote and Wulsin (who was only a couple thousand votes behind Schmidt in '06) got spanked.

Ohio District 1 ousted Steve Chabot, though.

Over all, though, I saw the word "Incumbent" written by the presumed winners far too many times last night for my comfort. Aparently, the American voter is very forgiving or is easily distracted.

All Democrat
Presidents in modern times have used the
fawning admiration of a liberal press to feed their own egos and bash Republican presidents on the world stage

fixed...

Bush will actually retire (like all Republican presidents before him) and leave posing and bs to the current occupant of the white house.

History will judge Bush on the merits...get back to me in about 20-30 years.

I wouldn't worry too much about W...he doesn't need the approval of fools like you or those in the media to validate his life.

Thanks for the update Nostradamus! Say what you want about the guy, but I think that he probably did what he felt was right for the country and didn't engage in a lot of rhetoric. He ran a very quiet administration and actually did some pretty cool things that you may never hear about. From my perspective, he also didn't seem to bow to public/media pressure. Time will tell what kind of an ex-President he'll be but hopefully, he'll take a page out of his dad's book and do some pretty cool things. I can definitely see Laura Bush being pretty active. If nothing else, I can see her dragging him along.

The Republican Party needs to completely re-make itself.

Since Reagan, we've been nominating mostly old, white, Protestant guys to head the ticket. Reagan was 69 and 73; Dole was 69; Bush 41 was 66; and McCain was 72 (and would have been the oldest 1st term president in US history!). Bush 43 at age 54 was a relative spring chicken.

Romney was disqualified because he was: A) not a Protestant; and B) not in his late 60's (he's 61).

The Republican Brand is dead, and it'll be interesting to see how this party decides to re-make itself in the 21st century. The party needs younger leaders as well as more women and minorities. It needs to appeal to the middle class more. And it needs to drop the issue of abortion as the essential litmus test for being a Republican. There needs to be room in the party for people who have different opinions about abortion.

Fools like me? Nice. Yet again it's come to insults as a means of saying "I disagree with you." Real intelligent way to get your point across.

First you "fix" my words (which if you read my post, you'd see I didn't say this, I repeated what a {censored}ing DJ on rock radio said) then you insult me and call me a fool.

Jesus {censored}ing Christ... I thought I hated this place during the whole election process. Asshats like you are why I really need to find a more productive hobby. The anger, animosity and negativity prevalent in this place is really getting under my skin as of late.

The biggest reason of all.

Hell, after the next 4 years he may be the next JFK or Reagan! :D

Laura will be more in the limelight than GW, and for actual positive reasons, IMO.

If anyone can be defined as an egomaniac, attention whore, and a miserable political failure look to your messiah or was that somebody else we saw doing appearances over seas later lieing about being told he couldn't visit wounded soldiers in Iraq when in fact the real reason was they wouldn't let him bring his media circus along.Who had those columns on stage for his speeches and who had his very own half hour show on all those networks. Why in all this time didn't he ever speak of his own illustrious political career?Bias is one thing.Denigrating a man who's served his country with honor his whole life just because you disagree with his politics is shameful.
