Members db.
Let's discover something. I'm just wondering if anybody knows of any overlooked bass players who should get some love. Please, no Entwistles, Fleas, and the like. IMPORTANT: Please add the name of the band and where to hear them! That way we don't have to go researching to know where to hear them. (Thanks, Ren) It may give us some inspiration. Hook up a video, or something...
Members Renfield
You should add that people need to name the bands or where to hear them. I made one of these threads, added similar disclaimers as you did, and got some great answers.... of guys I had never heard of and had to go researching to know where to hear them. Having said that, I'll toss out... Mike Watt Joe Principe Johnny Temple Robert Levon Been
Members justinbass
Dean Dinning - From Toad the Wet Sprocket. Always tasteful, never flashy. Very musical, and plays to the songs. Billy Gould - Faith No More.

Members Super Bass
Karl Alvarez from Descendents & ALL. Not really rock, more punk rock but an awesome bassist that's overlooked a lot.

Indeed. And if we stretch rock into punk rock, can't leave out Fat Mike. I won't mention Matt Freeman though, because that would be an obvious one, right? Members Renfield
Frank Bello from Anthrax Due to copyright, I can't embed the video but here is "Got the Time" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wHijgQ1UVw Although I agree, because he rocks and I love this song, can a guy with his own signature model bass really be considered underrated? +1 to Rob Wright though. Members pwgjam
Although I agree, because he rocks and I love this song, can a guy with his own signature model bass really be considered underrated? I'd say yes he can based on the fact that Pete Wentz has a signature bass. Having a signature bass does not make you a god.
Members Emprov
Denson Angulo. I've heard that he has this weird Star Wars and video game thing happening but the dude can play.
Members theglove
Former Slapstick and Current Alkaline Trio Bassist Dan Andriano. In slapstick, he had the weirdest (good) tone plus some pretty intense basslines. In the Trio, his lines work very well and often carry alot of the songs. Not sure where you can find Slapstick tunes, since they're kind of old and never made it commercially, but Trio songs are easy to come by.
