Members Mr.Mow
So I dropped some cash on a Custom shop 59RI P-Bass.. They had to order it in..The box was opened in front of me so I know it was new.. - pickguard was covered in finger marks (aluminium so no plastic cover).. no biggy- blue pen mark on the back.. doesn't look like it will buff out, has stained the white blonde finish.. again, no biggy- dust all over the tuners and fret board.. hmmm.. display?- scuff on top.. very minor will buff out- bridge cover holes... drilled {censored}IN crooked.. am I being too picky? Members Rippin' Robin
I don't know how much cash you dropped on it, but if it were 'custom shop' and 'ordered in', I'd be frickin' livid.

Members Ender_rpm
Yup. As calmly as possible, send it back, with a list of defects. For what you were talking about spending int he other thread, it needs to be PERFECT.

Members Bryan316
Take that sumbitch back. NO custom shop instrument should come to you with ANY kind of flaw. AT ALL. Don't get bullied by the store. OR the manufacturer.
Members i_wanna_les_paul
My high schoool math teacher ordered a Gibson SJ-200 acoustic. I think it took them 5+ guitars before they finally sent one he accepted. For custom shop prices, it better be flawless.

Members Bryan316
This thread is yet another reason why to say SCREW FENDER. Just go order up a Lakland or a Sadowksy or a G&L, and get a superior instrument without the BS custom-shop pricetag. Fender's custom shop means "Basses we actually try to pay attention to while building".

Members Mr.Mow
I'll be taking it back today.. of all the things that bug me the bridge cover holes being crooked.. I take the covers off and all I see is crooked holes:facepalm: I'll also add, last night i noticed lacquer along parts of the fret board like it wasn't masked off very well.. I guess I was expecting perfection too.. I'm a little gutted..
Members lug
I would kill the employee that sold it to me, their whole family, and maybe even their mailman. Possibly the local 7-11 attendant that waits on them the most as well. Then, I would certainly burn down the factory for good measure.

Members Sugarskull
It is really too bad you took it home. I hope you get some action out of this. Dont tell them you took the bridge covers off. Dont tell them you took anything off. Just mention you think they look crooked. The second they think you messed with it, they'll claim you wrecked your warranty and therefor wont do a thing for you. With the dust and fingerprints it would seem to me that it was on display somewhere else too. That's not a big deal, but having it in bad shape with friggin' pen marks on that back is. Good luck taking it back. I really hope you get what you want. *crosses fingers*

Members Mr.Mow
I'm lucky that the guys at the shop are top guys so I'm not too worried there..None of the problems are life threatening, I guess I was just expecting a certain level of 'wow'!
