I've got my vcr set to record it...that way I can skip the 'lady antebellums' of the world and get right to the good stuff...

I agree - it should be a very good show...as it has been for the last few years...they really upped the production budget and it shows...

plus I have a crush on Carrie...

So who do you think the "mystery performer(s)" will be?

I dunno, but I would've thought
The Eagles
would've been the highlight of the show.

.

.

.

Skynyrd will guest with Kid Rock in his set, is my guess.

Carrie is going to be smoking tonight! I can't friggin' wait!!!

I don't like radio country, which is what the CMA's are for, but I would be willing to watch this just to look at her for a couple of hours.

Not only is she performing, but she's also hosting with Brad Paisley!

And that means many, Many, MANY costume changes!!!

*faints*

Do people really think that Sugarland are actually
good
?

Worst songwriting ever. One of my bands wants to cover that "All I want to do" piece of {censored} and I'd rather claw my own eyes out.

Carrie Underwood is hot as balls.
:thu:

Yeah I'm not a big Sugarland honk. They kinda suck.

Although that "Stay" song is pretty heartfelt and strong, but I don't wanna cover it or anything... ;)

George Strait and Alan Jackson are "new country"??

Jeez.

:(

'tweeners.

they do country, but to get on the radio, they do 'new country'.

sorry, but i grew up with Cash, Waylon, Merle, George Jones, etc.

and there's so much good country still being made, but you'd never know it.

the new stuff sells, people like it, but i don't have to listen to it.

*goes and puts on Bob Wills*

I'm not a huge Nashville fan, but there still is some good stuff.

I mostly stick to my Texas/red dirt country artists, which is all the best parts of a lot of genres.

so who do you like?

As of the last year or two, it's really gotten saturated and it's becoming like the Nashville deal, where if you put on a pearl-snap shirt and look like a rocker, you're "legit".

The main guys I still go support and see (and have been for years, before the "movement" hit) are Cross Canadian Ragweed (more southern rock nowadays than alt country), Pat Green, Randy Rogers Band, Brandon Rhyder, Jason Boland, Cory Morrow, Chris Knight, Eli Young Band, Roger Creager, Reckless Kelly, etc..

Like I said there's a lot of smaller bands that have one or two songs, but the above are acts/people I'll always buy a CD from no matter what's on it.
